Lace

Lace-making is an old world art of weaving holes with a specific design into a textile while it is being made. While a form of lace has been around for centuries, the production of true lace was not made until the 15th and 16th centuries. A true lace was created when artisans began looping threads and then twisting those threads to other threads in creating intricate patterns and shapes.

Custom Made Gowns:
Our custom gowns offer two primary advantages over a standard off-the-rack-gown.
  1. No Tailoring or Alterations:

When you went wedding dress shopping or for that matter dress shopping of any type, have you ever tried on a dress and wish it fit better in the bust, looser in the waist or more structured in the hips? How much did it cost you for basic tailoring and adjustments? Have you investigated how much it will cost you to get a wedding dress altered? Perhaps you don’t fit the model perfectly so you have to buy a dress to fit the largest part of you and then get the rest taken in. How is that going to distort your dream gown?

With the Stasia Perfect Fit Method, whether you are measured by one of our designers in the studio or you send in your measurements online we guarantee the dress will be perfectly proportioned to your body and no tailoring or alterations will be needed.* This will save money, time, and most importantly your sanity right before your wedding.

*Assuming you do not loose or gain weight from the time the measurements are taken or confirmed with the muslin.
  2. Your exact gown:

Have you tried on a gown and said was perfect except for ... It could be that the gown needed longer or shorter sleeves, a longer train or just a sash. Or perhaps you love beading and wished that it had more embellishments? If you take the dress to get altered after you purchase it from a store, how are you going to guarantee that the alteration doesn’t stand out? Will the fabric match? Will the bodice have enough movement after you add the sleeves that you aren’t restricted by the gown? And most importantly by how much will this raise the price of your gown?

At Stasia, you make all the choices before the dress is even cut even the fabrics for your dress. We work with you to fully customize your gown to fit your personal preferences as well as any religious requirements. The entire dress fits together seemlessly* because it is made from the ground up just for you. Most importantly you don’t have to pay extra for these features. Our custom gowns range from $1000 to $1600.

All gowns are made in the USA by local artists who have atleast a 4 year degree in Fashion Design and garment construction. Gowns are made combining machine sewing with hand sewing as needed. By keeping production in house and on-site as well as making the gown as soon as you order it, we are able to deliver your gown within 4-8 weeks.

Couture Gowns:
The art of creating a true couture gown is extremely labor intensive because it is completely hand stiched. A couture gown can take months to complete. Attention to detail and a personal touch are the cornerstones of couture gowns. Our couture gowns are all HAND made and are made custom to your particular measurements and specifications. This makes for a truly personal experience the designer, you the bride, and the gown with the finished product being absolutely exquisite.

Couture advantages:

  1. Apart from the process in which the gowns are made, a specific distinction of couture gowns is that our couture gowns have an additional inner fabric lining. This helps build and create the overall shape and structure of the gown. You can easily distinguish between a couture gown and a off the rack gown by this quality alone.
  2. Lace is shapes in a way that it appears completely seamless to the untrained eye.
  3. The fabrics used are of the highest quality because just like in cooking, the better the ingredients the tastier the dish! Do not settle for mediocre.

At Stasia Modest Couture, we are able to shave down the creation time of the gown without compromising the quality of the gown. We at Stasia have been able to mainstream an old world couture technique by pairing a chosen designer with a bride from the beginning and having the two work together along the process. The chosen designer then alone works on your specific gown for about 6 weeks straight complete in from beginning to end. The designer spends a maximum of 240 hours over a 6 week period to construct your gown in the designated time limit.

We understand that each bride's veil and head piece reflects both her personal style as well as her religious traditions. If there is a head piece you'd like us to make, please call us to discuss options.
